Bagenalstown under 12’s are one of the teams that play for Bagenalstown AFC. A number of the players are residents of Respond estates locally. Respond is delighted to be of support to this young local team.

Comprising of boys and girls, the team trains twice a week, Monday and Wednesday with a match on Saturday. There are three coaches who try and maintain progressive training sessions focusing on fitness, technique and team work which culminated with them winning the Under 11 Cup last year with Captain Shauna O’Neill lifting the cup and Taghd Holland voted Man of the Match.

It was with great enthusiasm that Coach Patty O’Neill accepted the sponsorship of training bibs and match ball.

‘In an economic environment where costs of Jerseys. Bibs and footballs etc. can spiral which in some cases has meant teams no longer able to continue.  It’s fantastic that Respond have provided us with these two items which will enable us to focus on our training and our games, and hopefully the training bibs will see lots of sweat and hard work’

Tom Power, Respond Regional Manager Southern Region also agreed with Mr O’Neil’s sentiments,

“ It is great to see adults giving of their time to train children.  The skills and discipline which the children will learn as part of a team will stay with them into adulthood.  We are delighted to support Bagenalstown AFC and wish them continued success.”
