Thanks to the culmination of effort from all the services users in the Respond Community Centre, Ard an Ghleanna Tramore ‘The Family fun Day’ held on August 25th was great celebration for families in the community. The event was supported by staff from Respond Housing Association, Caroline Haran, Jennifer Danaher and Niamh Flavin.
It was an afternoon filled with games for the residents of Respond and the surrounding community. The Family fun Day at Ard an Ghleanna Community Centre is an annual event that offers the Community a free afternoon of games, crafts, music and fun that can be enjoyed by all the family.
The day kicked off with Freddie Drohan providing the music and acting as MC for the sports games that were organised by volunteers from Tramore AFC: Vanessa Ogbonna, Jessica Gleeson and David Allen, a big thank you to their enthusiastic effort to create activities for all ages. Kids enjoyed the sack races, egg and spoon races, and penalty shoot-out.
The girls and boys who attended the ‘ Family Fun Day’, also enjoyed arts and crafts facilitated by Caroline Hennessy ‘True Colours’ play therapist (service available at the centre). Many thanks to Brid O Hehir and Mary Lyng from the womens group for volunteering their time.
Thank you to all who contributed to making the day an enjoyable experience for everyone.
