Friends of Respond – Ennis Celebration

After years of hard work and dedication Fr. Pat Cogan, OFM has handed over the reins to take a well-deserved break from his position as Chief Executive Officer of Respond Fr. Pat will be staying on as a non-executive member of the Board of Directors and will have an advisory role to Respond and its sister company, Respond (Support) Ltd.

On Sunday, 23^rd August, 2015 the Friends of Respond, Ennis supported by the Respond residents of Stone Court, Bridge View and Orchard Grove estates celebrated with Fr. Pat and current and former members of the Friends of Respond, Ennis.

The occasion included a celebration of Mass with Fr. Pat Cogan, Fr. Tom Hogan, PP, Ennis Parish and Fr. Jerry Carey, PP, Doora-Barefield Parish. It followed with a gathering of friends old and new, sharing good food and friendly chat. It was a time to reminisce with friends and colleagues and remember absent members.

Fr. Pat is held in high regard in Ennis where he served in the Franciscan Friary, founded the Friends of Respond and instigated five housing developments for older persons, families and special needs housing during his time as CEO of Respond. It was obvious from the many tributes paid to Fr. Pat Cogan that his achievements and the work of the organisation have made an indelible impression on the people of Ennis and throughout the western region. We say “Míle Buíochas agus Saol Fada Suaimhneach Chugat, A Athair!”
