A Family Fun Day was held on 1st September at Millennium Court, Kilkenny. Penny Dwyer, Childcare Manager and Resident tell us what happened:

The day was bright and sunny, everyone was in great spirits, everything was organized and ready and people were having a well-deserved break…….for about 5 minutes. The crowds started to arrive in their droves.  Everyone’s adrenaline kicked in and it was full-steam ahead.

The entertainment included rock wall climbing with a difference, it was an inflatable ‘wall’ so even the little ones could have a try. The bungee trampolines were on the go non-stop, the bouncy castle and dinosaur slide were a great hit too.

St. Patricks Brass Band came along and entertained the crowd adding to atmosphere, and the local community radio were in top form interviewing children and adults from their mobile unit.

We had the beautiful and talented local resident, Becca Fox who is only 16 years old sing her heart out for the very appreciative crowd.  Everyone participated in at least one of the giant games such as ‘milk the cow’, ‘flip the fish’, giant connect four, ‘hook a duck’, buzzer, table tennis, face painting and more…….

The “café” was a hive of activity, where participants gathered and enjoyed an array of sweet and savoury treats and just a few minutes of time away from the madness happening outside.

All in all a great day was had by all.

One local councillor summed it up by saying “if Carlsberg made family days, it would probably be like this one…..” I think this says it all.
