At Respond, we are deeply committed to providing high-quality services to families and individuals experiencing homelessness.

We support families in emergency accommodation with 24/7 wraparound support designed to meet the diverse needs of the families we serve.

We understand that the journey out of homelessness is complex and multifaceted, involving challenges that are unique to each individual and family. Our approach is trauma informed, aiming not only to provide accommodation but also to address mental and physical health needs and offer family or parenting support, among other services. This commitment is in line with the National Quality Standards Framework (NQSF), which sets the benchmark for excellence in service provision.

Respond works closely with the Dublin Regional Homeless Executive, Limerick City and County Council and HSE to ensure that the accommodation and support we provide are suited to the needs of each family and individual. We are committed to transparency, continuous improvement, and to upholding the highest standards of care and support for families experiencing homelessness.

Supports and Workshops

Psychotherapy/Counselling Service

Respond offer in-house Counselling and Psychotherapy Service. It is a talking therapy that can be of great support in times of crisis or change. It involves providing professional assistance to people who are experiencing personal issues to help alleviate those difficulties. Your keyworker will discuss this with you on arrivals to the service and talk you through the referral process.

Workshops

Workshops in homeless services are designed based on the expressed needs and suggestions of service users. Covering topics ranging from budgeting and job readiness to mental health, wellbeing and substance abuse, these workshops address the most pressing concerns of individuals experiencing homelessness. By incorporating service user feedback, we ensure relevance and effectiveness while you are with us.

We extend empowerment by connecting service users with community supports. Through partnerships with local organizations, we offer access to additional resources, services, and opportunities tailored to their needs within the community.

By linking into community support networks, this will provide ongoing assistance, resources, and opportunities, ensuring sustained progress and empowerment long after your time with us

Housing Progression

Weekly Housing progression workshops in homeless services focus on empowering individuals to navigate their journey towards stable housing. These workshops cover topics such as budgeting, Higher HAP rental assistance, tenant rights, and housing search strategies. By providing practical skills and knowledge, and removing the myths around housing we aim equip individuals with the tools needed to secure and maintain housing independence

Getting a referral

Referrals for our service come directly from each Local Authority. A Homeless Assessment will be completed and if deemed homeless, temporary accommodation can be organized through the relevant local Authority below, or through Central Placement Service, Dublin Regional Homeless Executive (DRHE)

Child & Youth Development

Child and youth development workers in our services offer programs for families experiencing various challenges, including homelessness. These programs often include family support services, parenting classes, educational workshops, and recreational activities aimed at strengthening family bonds, enhancing parenting skills, promoting resilience, and addressing the unique needs of families.

Keyworkers

Keyworkers in our homeless services offer multifaceted support, balancing immediate needs with housing-focused strategies. They provide personalized support planning with each individual, advocacy, and resources to address immediate challenges, while also supporting each person towards stable housing solutions.  They empower service users to overcome challenges, and rebuild their lives with sustainable housing at the forefront.

Homeless Services

57 Northwood Green, Santry Dublin 9 DO9AKC3 Northwood Green service is comprised of 23 self – contained apartment units in Santry, Dublin 9. Each apartment has its own front door giving families independence and privacy. There are between one and three bedroom apartments on site to cater for family groups of various sizes. Apartments have kitchen facilities, 2 bathrooms, living and dining areas, a utility room with washing machine and ample storage

19/20 Saint Lawrence’s road, Clontarf, Dublin 3 D03 C956 Clontarf homeless service is comprised of 11 ensuite bedrooms with communal shared facilities.Including a large kitchen for all families to use, laundry room aswell as a family room, sensory room and garden

High Park Campus, Grace Park Road, Drumcondra, Dublin 9,D09 N2N Highpark homeless service is comprised of 23 units with communal shared facilities. Including kitchens for all families to use, laundry rooms, as well as a family room, sensory room, play ground and garden.

29 Ballygrennan Close, Moyross, Limerick V94XP6 Suaimhneas Homeless service consists of 6 ensuite bedrooms and various communal spaces including a kitchen, family space and sensory room. We also have laundry facilities on site as well as outdoor play spaces for children.

Gleann na hEorna, Springfield, Tallaght D24 XA49 8 apartment have its own front door giving families independence and privacy, one apartment shares a kitchen .Apartments have kitchen facilities, bathrooms, living and dining areas, a utility area with washing machine and ample storage. We also have a, playground, sensory room and rooftop garden

Respond’s Firhouse service is comprised of 17 units in Firhouse Dublin 24.   We have one self -contained unit and 16 ensuite rooms. Firhouse Service provides communal kitchen facilities, living, dining areas and laundry room, playroom and sensory room.

Respond Charter of Rights and Responsibilities

  • You have the right to be treated with dignity and respect at all times
  • You have the right while in Respond Family Hub to be free from threatening and violent behaviour (both verbal and physical)
  • You have the right to be free from prejudice
  • You have the right to fully participate in relation to your own care plan
  • You have the right to come forward and talk about an issue if you feel you have been treated unfairly or disrespectfully and have it investigated in confidence as outlines in Respond Family Hub procedures
  • You have the right to request the Respond fair and efficient complaints procedure
  • You have the right to access the Respond appeals procedure
  • Under the freedom of information act, you have the right to access any written information about you contained on your file
  • You will receive advice on how to access relevant and appropriate services
  • You are consulted and can present your views about issues which may affect the service in general.
  • Through existing Respond Family Hub structures you have the right to participation and involvement

  • To adhere to Respond’s service guidelines, policies and procedures
  • To show all service users, staff, volunteers, resources and facilities dignity and respect
  • To provide relevant information about yourself as it relates to your role and involvement with Respond Family Hub
  • To take personal responsibility and accountability for any actions agreed
